Portabella Mushroom Pizza

2 Portobella Mushroom Caps (120 grams = 2 green)
2 oz Kraft Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese (1/2 lean)
15 Turkey Pepperonis
*Note - Turkey Pepperonis are not approved my Medifast Nutrition Support. You can read the official post here.
2 TB Sugar Free Spaghetti Sauce (2 condiments)
2 tsp Olive Oil (2 healthy fats)
1 tsp Italian Seasoning (1 condiment)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse off the top of the mushrooms and cut off the stem. Coat mushrooms with olive oil and put mushrooms on the George Foreman grill for about 10 minutes, until softened. Add 2 TB of spaghetti sauce to each mushroom top. Top with 1 oz of cheese and 1/2 the pepperonis each. Cook in oven until cheese is melted. Top with Italian seasoning.

This counts as 2 green, 1/2 lean, 2 healthy fats, 3 condiments without topping.  Though not recommended, I counted the Turkey pepperoni as the rest of my lean.

I made this last night with 1 1/2 portabello, 2 servings of turkey pepperoni, 2 oz of low fat cheese, and 4 tbsp chopped low sodium canned tomatoes, & Mrs. Dash. It was so filling that I calculated the numbers to make sure I was in plan...and it was :). Thanks for the recipe...keep them coming!

Hello! I am eager to try this wonderful recipe. However, I am having a difficult time finding SF spaghetti sauce. What brand(s) are out there? Where would I find them? Thank you so much sharing!
Ragu makes a good sugar free spaghetti sauce that I have seen at all the grocery stores & walmart.

Cody Jo, I made this tonight for the first time. It was very good. I don't have a GF grill so I used a grill pan. Turned out good but I had one problem. My husband complained about the smell the whole time! He kept saying it smelled like somthing burning and was choking him. So, I want to know if they smell as strong when usibg the GF grill or do I need to not make them again? Any suggestions?
My husband complains about the smell when I cooked it on the GF grill, but he always complains about cooked vegetable smell...men :)

If you have an outdoor grill, I bet it would work great on the BBQ!

How is the texture of the mushrooms? They look really dark, almost burnt, in your picture. I've seen portabellas cooked on a GF for only 5 minutes before so 10 seems kind of long.

Thanks for this recipe; it was so delicious, I wished there was more. I couldn't find turkey pepperoni so I substituted with turkey sausage which was so yum!

Do you hollow the mushroom out? And what end do you put on the grill? The stem side or the outter side? Thanks!! This looks so good, making it tonight!!

Good luck making this tonight! I didn't hollow it out & I used a George Foreman grill, so both sides got grilled.
