I bought a sandwich maker just so I could try out your recipes.... yumm! I know how I'm gonna be making my tomato soup from now on :)
I just did the same thing today.
cody jo thanks for this recipe! bought my $10 sandwhich maker just to try your recipe today - followed it exactly except put lowfat mix of cheese in (cheddar/mozz) and it is DELICIOUS!!

do you put any water in soup?
Nope, because there would be too much liquid in the sandwich maker.
Just had this for dinner! Yummy!
Yummy! Just ate with a sliced up tomato on the side. Thanks!
I just made this--unfortunately it stuck badly to the sandwich maker and separated...any thoughts on what I did wrong? Do you use cooking spray?
When my sandwich maker was new, no cooking spray was needed. But as I have used it a lot, I need it now.
I so have missed grilled cheese and am not in love with the tomato soup, so this may take care of both. Question though: could the "bread" portion be reheated the next day then add the cheese? Trying to find other options for lunch at school to break the monotony. I love your site. I may go buy a sandwich maker today!! Thank you
Yes, you can reheat it but keep it refrigerated after you cook it. Enjoy!
Tips on how to cook (or what to cook in)....I don't have a sandwich maker.
I haven't tried it out, but I have heard some people cook it in a small fry pan or in a waffle maker. You can pick up a sandwich maker for $10 at Walmart & Target too. Most people that get them end up using them all the time on Medifast.
Have you tried it with pizza sauce rather than salsa? I have a jar opened that I used with the cauliflower pizza and would hate to see it wasted, if this would be another use for it. I will try it and get back to you.
This sounds so good. I need a sandwich maker! I really miss grilled cheese sandwiches.
Cody Jo! I just made this...again! It's my FAVORITE. I just wanted to say a big thanks again for being so wonderfully creative and sharing it!

Ok just made this and it was super good! Thanks for a great Medifast recipe!
Finally tried this particular recipe the other day. Makes the COT soup much more edible. Thanks for sharing. I am loving my sandwich maker for the pancakes and the banana shake recipe as well.
OMG. I accidentally found this site. Didn't have a sandwich maker, but made it in my waffle maker. Best medifast meal I've had! Thank you!
OMG... thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was getting bored of the soup chips & found your site. It has saved me! I just made this recipe... following the variation of switching out 2 TBS of salsa for 1 TBS of water (I'm not a salsa fan)... oh & I don't have a sandwich maker so I tried it out using my waffle iron. SUCCESS!!! A delicious way for me to deal with the 3 boxes of tomato soup I have.
You are a great inspiration of what's possible with this crazy food.
A very sincere thanks!!!
The link did not work to read what the nutrionist said about this meal, but my question is, can you combine the Tomato soup and a package of eggs and then add some salsa and water and get the same effect? Then you won't have to use any protein from your lean and green to make these???
I didn't have a sandwich maker and tried it just using my small frying pan. Tastes great, but think I will go buy me a sandwich maker. Consistency as a sandwich just wasn't there. Thanks for the recipe though!!!!
I just bought a sandwich maker (no longer can find one for $10) and plan to make this today. I'm so excited. Your other recipes have been above and beyond my expectations and I make them repeatedly. Can't wait!
Will a packet of scrambled eggs work here? I am going to try this using the quesadilla pan on my George Forman grill
CODY JO! your recipe's are fantastic! i made a muffin out of the crappy dk chocolate shake. made it like the pancake mix. turned out huge, and filling... used 1/2 tsp baking powder.
my question here is, i'd like to make this soup like a muffin. i used 1/2 tsp baking powder, 3 tbs water, 2 tbs eggbeaters, and added a little shredded cheese. i microwaved for 2 min, and it came out an exploded foamy mess. i finished it in the sand maker. it tased good, but looked like crap.
any suggestions?
This is delicious!!! (eating it now)
I did substitute low fat laughing cow cheese though... delish!
I bought a new cooker for this. It stuck really bad, so next time will spray it first. Probably stuck cuz it's new.
I scraped it off and ate it though! Yum :)
Mine burned on the outside and not done on the inside, stuck when I opened it and pulled it apart . . . I used plenty of PAM. Any suggetions?
Do you have different heat settings on your sandwich maker?
This is amazing!!! Really fills you up! I turned my sandwiches in the maker to evenly brown, as the bottom will cook faster. I used hot salsa, which is great with it. I suggest letting sit for one minute after putting cheese slice on it, to let cheese melt. Tastes just like tomato soup+grilled cheese!
I think this is the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. I used a habenero/chipolte salsa which added a lot. Love it, thanks again Cody!
I made this on a waffle maker today as I don't have a sandwich maker. It is just as delicious as everyone is saying. I couldn't be more pleased!
I just made this for my daughter and myself as we are both on program...It was amazing!! Thank you for trying all these things and posting them...makes the program that much more doable with the opportunities to have even more variety in our meals...
Thank you,

I dug out my sandwich maker and tried this .... it was awesome.. I could have eaten more though, it was so good. I just found this site this morning, and I think I will be visiting it every day now. I've lost 52 lbs with Medifast but fell off and keep trying to get past those first three days.. I think that the recipes on this site will be a huge help.
Only 86 more lbs to goal!
I unpacked my new sandwich maker just to try this recipe. It was delicious! I've lost 52 lbs already with Medifast, and at some point, fell off the wagon, and it's been a struggle to get back on. I just found this site today and I think that with the help of this blog, it will be easier to get back on track. Only 86 lbs more to go to reach goal.
Amazing, I used 1 packet SW eggs instead of the eggbaters and a little extra water. Adds some spice and variety to the plan!
If you add a MF egg to the mix wouldn't that be having 2 meals? Just wondering...still new to the ins and outs of MF.
prayers,
Cindi
This recipe is great! Love it! It works just as well if you cook it on a griddle on top of the stove. Just cook it on low heat so that both sides can get cooked throughly. Thanks for this site! It adds so much more variety to the plan!

My health coach just led me to your blog. I owe her big. Don't have a lot of time to experiment. Just the muffin alone is worth reading everything you write. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

This recipe was excellent! It didn't taste like I was having a Medifast Meal at all. I'm definitely going to save my tomato soup meals for home where I can be close to my sandwich maker!
Help! My turned out a mess. It is stuck to all 8 triangles and won't come out without turning in to a pile of mush. What did I do wrong?
